Last in the Line

The last aircraft to be designed and built by the Armstrong Whitworth company, the Argosy entered RAF service with 114 Squadron in 1962. A total of 56 Argosies were delivered and the type had a relatively short RAF career, the last examples being retired by the mid 1970s. The type did however see service with civil operators for much longer, some seeing service into the early 1990s.
