Steam Train Birthday Cards- 46138 The London Irish Rifleman
The Royal Scot class were one of the best medium-sized passenger locomotives of their time and were built in appreciable numbers and in a number of different variants. 46138, named “The London Irish Rifleman” had a tapered boiler and is seen here pulling the Irish Mail train to Holyhead, where the mail would be disembarked and placed on ships ready for the sea crossing.
Eric Bottomley’s railway birthday card would be ideal for anyone with an interest in the LMS, Royal Scot’s or railways in general.
