Freightliner Class 47 Diesel Class Railway Blank Birthday Card by Philip D. Hawkins
Stalwart of freight services for nearly four decades, the Class 47 was an ever-present sight on Britain’s railways until relatively recently. In Philip D. Hawkins atmospheric painting we see 47376 wearing the distinctive triple-grey Freightliner livery, the first of the class to do so, and carrying the crest of Crewe depot.
This locomotive is now preserved on the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway.
