Operating Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX from November 1942, 306 Squadron
was one of the Polish manned squadrons within the RAF. The skill and aggression
of Polish units had already been demonstrated during the Battle of Britain and
they were prized assets to both Fighter and Bomber commands
