The legendary Eric
'Winkle' Brown is seen is this wonderful portrait by Graham Henderson. The
holder of the record for most types flown by a single pilot, Brown started his
career in the Fleet Air Arm during WWII before becoming a highly successful
Test Pilot. Along with his vast experience of differing types, Brown was also
to be the pilot of the cancelled British super-sonic challenger, the Miles M.52
and was the first person to land a jet aboard an aircraft carrier and it this
latter event that is shown.
