Maserati Tipo 61 Motorsport Art Print by Motoring Artist Richard Wheatland
This is a 1960 Tipo 61 Maserati known as the ‘Birdcage’ because of the cars multi-tube chassis construction. The car was powered by a 2.9 litre 4 cylinder engine, this one is in the period colours of the Camoradi team and has a ‘streamliner’ body designed for Le Mans. My painting features the Maserati under the tented paddock bay at the famous Goodwood Revival meeting. This is one of Richard's reflective studies, but for this one, the artist chose a more stylised approach to the reflections in the white car’s bodywork
