Robert Dunlop - Isle of Man TT 1990
Robert Dunlop on the JPS Norton at the 1990 Isle of Man TT by Motorcycle Artist Graham Holme
The 1990 Formula One TT Race was won by Carl Fogarty followed by Nick Jefferies on the Loctite Yamaha. Coming third was Ulsterman Robert Dunlop, riding the JPS Norton RCW 588, seen here. Though third in the Formula One race, Dunlop would ride to success in the 125cc event, the class he made his own, winning three years in a row. After several crashes and a number of years away from the winners podium at the TT, Dunlop would gain another class win in 1998. Regrettably Robert Dunlop was killed practicing for his TT return in 2008.
Graham Holmes Motorcycle Racing Print shows Dunlop pushing his Norton to the limit.
