Class 40 BR Locomotive Art Print by Stuart Booth
One of British Rails mainstays in the early years of the modernisation plan, the 200 members of Class 40 were produced from 1958-1962. Initially much celebrated, the type was quickly supplanted by more powerful locomotives and were to be found, in later years, on secondary passenger and freight turns. This one is seen at Ais Gill
Withdrawal began in 1976 and the class had been completely retired by 1985
This is the original oil on canvas painting from which our prints are taken. It comes varnished, framed and ready to hang. It measures 26" x 20" (660mm x 508mm).
