An often overlooked story in the survival of Britain during WWII is the work of the Land Army, whose skill and determination helped to ensure food stocks were kept reasonable and thus thwart the U-Boat menace.
With their trusty Fordson tractor, the girls pause for a moment to see which aircraft is coming in to land. Could it be that one of them had dated a member of the crew the night before?
This is the original oil on canvas board painting from which our cards and prints are taken.
The painting comes varnished and framed ready to hang and measures 20" x 16" (508mm x 406mm), with a framed size of 24" x 20" (600mm x 500mm).
