Curtiss Seahawk Aviation Art Print by Darryl Legg

Shipborne Sentinel - The Curtiss SC-1 Seahawk

It has always been our intention to bring our customers aircraft that may have never been seen in art prints before, and we are very thankful to Darryl for supplying us a number of works featuring some very rare aircraft indeed.

Replacing the venerable Vought OS-2U Kingfisher and Curtiss SO3C Seamew, the Curtiss SC-1 Seahawk would enter service as the US Navy's standard shipborne floatplane during 1944. Over 500 were built and the type would continue to serve until 1949, though it never fully replaced the earlier types during WWII. This aircraft is seen departing from its seaplane tender, the USS Little Rock in 1945.
