English Electric Lightning 11 Squadron Aviation Art Print Painting by Artist Paul Couper
English Electric Lightnings of 11 Squadron are seen being moved around the airfield at Luqa, Malta in the early 1970s. RAF squadrons would quite often fly from overseas bases such as Luqa or Akrotiri in Cyprus for Armament Practice Camp.
The tractor is one of the family of ubiquitous David Browns, which had been a stalwart of the RAF's ground vehicle fleet in various forms from its introduction in the early 1940s until finally replaced on remote bases in the mid 1970s.
