The great SS United States is seen in heavy weather, showing the power that would win her the Blue Riband in July 1952 . The story of this illustrious liner is well known and her preservation should have been assured by her success in the last years of Trans-Atlantic passenger liners. As of 2024 however, her fate still remains in the balance, despite being one of the greatest ships ever built.
