Abbot Lawrence Boston Clipper Marine Ocean Liner Art Print by Roy Cross RSMA, GAvA

 

The  Abbot Lawrence leaving Boston late in the 1850s. George B. Upton and Cap E. Caldwell were the owners of the clipper of 1,497 tons, built by Donald McKay. She was launched in 1856 and entered the Californian and East Indies trades. She was preceded down the slipway by the similarly named Amos Lawrence, built the same year for Boston owners Emmons & Parsons for the same trading routes
