On completion of initial officer training and elementary flight training (at the time of the painting on the S.A Bulldog) budding pilots are sent to one of three flying schools. Young fast-jet pilots are sent to Linton-On Ouse to commence Basic Fast Jet Training at 1 FTS on the Short Tucano. Here a pair of 1 FTS Tucano pay a visit to the school some time in the mid 1990s, their pilots would have left not long before.
