Airliner Aviation Art Print of a British European Airways BEA HS.121 Trident by Aviation Artist Paul Couper AGAvA

The Trident design originated with De Havilland but finally came to production status with Hawker Siddeley. A very novel aircraft, it was extremely quiet by nature of its rear-engine design and was well liked by both passengers and crew. However, in a highly competitive market, Government interference and the design of the aircraft too closely to the needs of BEA meant that the total production run amounted to only 117 aircraft, against the nearly 1850 aircraft of the Boeing 727, which had been built to roughly similar technical specifications.
