Hawker Nimrod’s from HMS Glorious fly on a training sortie in the 1930s. A Naval version of  the company’s Fury fighter, the Nimrod had equipment for operations at sea, a stronger structure and a 4.5” (117mm) extension to its wingspan. The Glorious and her sistership Courageous would be two early casualties during WWII with Glorious being lost off Norway in April 1940, while Courageous was lost on U-Boat patrol in late 1939.
