Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX Johnnie Johnson Aviation Art Limited Edition Print by Aviation Artist Glynn Williams

One of a number of Spitfires to wear his famous JE-J initials, this is Spitfire Mk.IX EN398 flown by Wg. Cdr. J.E 'Johnnie' Johnson while in command of the Kenley Wing in early 1943. Britain's most successful pilot of WWII with 38 victories, Johnson scored 12 victories and 5 shared victories while piloting the aircraft. EN398 was also used by Sqn. Ldr. Robert McNair to claim an Fw-190, making the aircraft one of the most successful Spitfires of the war.
