Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway 7F 2-8-0 Art Print by Stuart Booth
Designed
by Henry Fowler of the Midland Railway, the 7F 2-8-0 became the most
recognisable locomotives on the
Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway. The first engines were delivered in 1914 and
a second batch were delivered in 1925 by which time the line was under the
auspices of the LMS.
They
were to give excellent service until withdrawal between 1959 and 1964.
