Malcolm Root FGRA Railway Art Print featuring a Class 47 Class locomotive.
Stalwarts of the System - The B.R Class 47
Introduced to service in 1962 and still in harness over six decades later, the Brush/Sulzer Type 4, later known as the class 47 was once one of the most recognisable and prolific diesels on Britain's railways, with over 500 examples being built. Now heading into the twilight of their career with withdrawals and conversion to Class 57, Malcolm Root's railway art print takes us back to the 1980s, a time when they were at the height of their prominence with this example seen in the striking Network South East livery.
The locomotive is seen passing Ely South signal box while heading a London to Kings Lynn service
We are are proud to be able to offer this diesel railway art print in our ever increasing range of art prints looking at the most important classes of diesel and electric locomotives to have seen service on Britain's railways.
